Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) Newry will be partaking in the Bridge Vigils called across Ireland tomorrow Friday 31 May with a demonstration on the bridge right outside the Train Station at 6pm.
They’re advising supporters to park at the station (it’s free) and walk out to join the vigil on the footpath across the bridge which spans the motorway.
IPSC Newry will be hanging signs, placards and banners over the railing so they ask supports to bring any they have along with Palestine flags.
They have requested specifically that it would be helpful if people could bring material which calls on the Irish gov. to implement immediate sanctions, expel all Zionist diplomats and end the use of our airports by US warplanes.
Marc Mac Seáin had this to say on behalf of IPSC Newry: “Whilst it is good our government has taken the step of recognising a Palestinian state over the objections of the Zionist settler-colony and its American backers, we think there’s much more the Irish government and others must do to force the Gaza Genocide to stop and dismantle the apartheid state.
"We are joining with the bridge vigils across Ireland to demand more meaningful action. Palestinians want our governments to act, which is why we need sanctions, expulsions of diplomats, arms embargoes and an end to permitting the American military violating our neutrality & using our airports to carry munitions and bombs which fuel genocide.”
