Following the absence of a Newry Pride Parade over the past few years, thanks to £20,000 funding from the National Lottery a new group has decided to continue the colourful event and have announced that Saturday 31 August will be the date for the 2024 Newry Pride Parade and Celebration, A Vibrant Day of Diversity and Inclusion.
LGBTQ+ Women’s Group Newry are the team behind the initiative and announcing the event, a spokesperson said "We are thrilled to announce the date for this year’s Newry Pride Parade and Celebration. Mark your calendars for Saturday, 31st of August, as we come together to celebrate love, acceptance, and equality.
"LGBTQ+ Women’s Group Newry are overjoyed to be able to bring back this important community event for the first time in 5 years, thanks to funding awarded by the National Lottery Community Fund. A massive thank you to them for helping us make this happen!"
The group wants this to be the best Pride Parade yet and have suggested ways in which the local community can support the event.

Join the Parade

Individual Donations and Volunteering
Although they have secured funding to cover the cost of a concert / festival event on the day, there are costs to run the parade itself which they currently have no reserves to cover. The group are asking people to donate, if they can, to help make Newry Pride 2024 a dazzling success.
