Write a commentNewry and Armagh MP Mickey Brady has said that the delay by the Southern Trust in providing paediatric surgery is completely unacceptable. His comments come after reports of a delay in providing the surgery at Daisy Hill and Craigavon hospitals.
The MP who will meet with the Southern Health Trust tomorrow to discuss the issue said "Children's Theatres in both Craigavon and Daisy Hills hospitals have not been running at full capacity. This is a completely unacceptable situation which needs to be rectified as a matter of urgency"
Mr Brady added "Reports state that as many as 100 families have been affected. This no doubt has caused those involve huge stress and frustration. It is quite obvious that there has been a break failure by the Trust to communicate properly those families awaiting treatment".
The MP has asked for a full explanation into how this situation was allowed to develop and an outline on actions taken on how the issue will be addressed and resolved
