Members of the Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) met with members of the local Neighbourhood Police Teams recently to discuss community safety and policing issues. Meetings were held in Warrenpoint, Crossmaglen and Newry.
While Newry and Mourne is a relatively safe place to live, issues discussed include drug seizures, action to reduce theft of agricultural vehicles, night time economy issues and antisocial behaviour. The PCSP is continuing to support engagement with the PSNI to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour and welcomes input from the public on local issues.
The next Area Forum meetings will be open to the public and will be held on 16 October 2013 in Warrenpoint, Newry and Bessbrook. Topics for discussion will include antisocial behaviour over the Halloween period and action being taken to reduce this.
