Planning permission has been applied for 18 apartments plus ground floor retail units at the former Post Office in Hill Street in Newry. It's a move that could put it's stamp on the transformation of Hill Street into a busy thoroughfare day and night.

The proposed renovations would see the building changed to retail and residential use with retail units fronting Hill Street and 18 Apartments stretching back to The Mall.
The application in the name of CCL Services Ltd, Carnbane would see demolition of existing rear retail units, mezzanine floors and storage areas and rear wall to The Mall.
Extension to existing retail units fronting Hill Street would see change of use of present offices on first and second floor to six apartments.
A new build fronting The Mall would see the addition of 12 apartments over 4 storeys with associated site-works including car parking.
