Recovery operation in progress to remove overturned truck on Armagh Road

An overturned lorry has resulted in the closure of the Armagh Road in Newry this morning.

The truck and container were travelling around the roundabout situated at the bottom of the A1 northbound exit for Armagh, in the early hours of this morning.

Police are diverting traffic coming from Armagh via the Doctors Hill and traffic coming from Newry should take an alternative route at Fiveways roundabout.

Two cranes and several recovery vehicles began the operation to lift the vehicle around 9.30 this morning.
