Six residents of Poyntzpass have organised an open meeting to discuss their plans to restore the old Poyntzpass National School in the village.
Fiona Bryson, Paul Convery, Roy Copeland, Harry Gaffney, Marc McComiskey and Barbara Best have formed the Poyntzpass National School BPT Board and they have been working with the Architectural Heritage Fund to draw up plans and secure funding.
The open meeting is on Thursday 16 January 2025
At 7.30pm In The Meeting Place, Church Street, Poyntzpass.
There will be a presentation with a 3-D ‘fly-through’ of the proposed restoration of The Old School in Railway Street.
The former National School is in a state of dereliction.
Eighteen months ago the six locals constituted a Board with the aim of renovating the building.
Their plan is to create a community hub and a business space in the two-room building.
You can help support their business case for funding and for the restoration of this important building in the heart of the village community by joining them on the 16th.
