The Ring of Gullion AONB Project holds an annual Photography Competition. This year’s theme was “Why the Ring of Gullion is important to me”.
Entries included photographs of great buildings, historical sites, activities and the outstanding landscape in the area. There were nearly 40 entries and the over and under 14 age categories were well represented.
Councillor Mayor Daire Hughes, Darren Rice, Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership Project Manager, and Aisleain McGill, Assistant Director had a very difficult job selecting the best photograph.
Therese Hamill, Ring of Gullion Officer said, “Many thanks to everyone who took part and very well done on the high standard on the photographs submitted. The winning pictures perfectly reflect this year’s theme; “Why the Ring of Gullion is important to me” in the Ring of Gullion. Prizes were sponsored this year by Newry and Mourne District Council, and Mille Fiori Ltd, the flower specialists, Camlough.”
Councillor Mayor Daire Hughes would like to invite everyone along to the Quays Shopping Centre to this year’s exhibition. The exhibition will be launched on Monday 17th November and will run until Friday 21st November.
