Write a commentMembers of Newry and Mourne Youth Council (SELB) recently visited the Newry and Mourne District Council offices to talk to some of our councillors including Mayor Dáire Hughes and Deputy Mayor Brian Quinn.
The Youth Council presented their action plan for the year and there was a very interesting exchange of views and information on each others work and goals.
The councillors commended the group on their many achievements to date and their visit ended with attendance at the council monthly meeting which allowed them to see local democracy in action.
SELB Area Worker Maureen O'Gorman commented "Its great to see some of our councillors having a genuine passion and interest in youth issues and their support is always appreciated.
The Youth Council are looking forward to working with our elected representatives on many planned events this year, the highlight being the upcoming YAFTAS, Youth and Future Talent Awards 2014/15"
