Santa Claus will be making free home visits to children under 10 who have disabilities or who are housebound and who live in Newry and Mourne.

Santa's will be helped on his visits by the Brain Injury Foundation, which supports brain injury survivors and their carers across the Southern Trust and to request a visit, a parent should text one of Santa’s elves at 07936454573 with brief details of their child and their own mobile number and address and Santa’s elf will be in touch to make the arrangements for the visit.

Santa and his helpers are looking forward to their home visits.

Frank Dolaghan, Chair of the Foundation, is one of Santa’s helpers and explained “Our volunteer, John Hicks, suggested that, as we have received so much public support since we were launched just over three years ago, we should give something back to our community. So two years ago we started offering home visits by Santa Claus and some of his elves to children who have disabilities of any kind or who are housebound for any reason. The visits have been very well received by children and parents and are free of charge. As one parent said “This is the only way my child could get to see Santa and Santa and his elf were just brilliant.”

The visits will take place in December. Santa may not be able to get around every home as, of course, December is his busy month but he will do his very best.

Santa will also be in attendance at the Brain Injury Foundation’s Christmas Fayre in their new premises just outside Camlough this Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December when children can visit Santa through a Tunnel of Light and receive a gift at a charge of £3.50 per child.

Parents will be welcome to take their own photos or videos. Santa will also be meeting children in Tesco’s on Wednesday 23rd December for free gifts and free photo opportunities.
