A 95 year old lady is trying to source an old photograph taken near Rostrevor back when World War Two ended in 1945.
The photograph shows the lady as a young girl with her cousins sitting on an Army tank in Ballyedmond, Rostrevor, probably in what is now the Ballyedmund Estate.
The search follows a conversation about the end of the war between Margaret Sheila Neill (Nee Mackrel) and her son Andy who no longer live in the area.
Andy was asking what his mother did at the end of the war and she remembers being at a big fire in the square in Rostrevor with everyone singing and dancing around it and this led on to reminiscences about the photograph in question which they have misplaced.
Mrs Neill is the only person still alive from the photograph.
If anyone can help in sourcing a copy of the photograph it would be much appreciated. Please email us at news@newry.ie or leave a message and we will pass it on.
