Two vans belonging to a popular family business have been completely destroyed in an arson attack in Newry.
The vans belonging to the Hill Street based Shelbourne Bakery were set alight late on Friday night 12 June in the North Street car park. Fire crews were in attendance but the vehicles were completely destroyed.
It followed an earlier incident in the Meadow where items were set alight in the middle of the road at Clanrye Avenue. Fire personnel that attended were stoned by youths with their faces covered. The PSNI Helicopter was in attendance.
The incidents followed several days of rioting in Belfast and several other areas in the north after a Sudanese man was arrested following an attack that left a man seriously injured in Belfast.
