“The Focus Fit challenge is designed to create a healthy change in your life with full support and advice on fitness and healthy eating. It is suitable for people aged from 18 and we will take on anyone from fitness fanatics to keep fit beginners.”

“Over the six week programme we will work hard to help you become healthier and fitter by providing three free professional training sessions under the supervision of Fitness Factory staff, per week including nutritional advice with food diaries and cookery classes to better inform you how to make those healthier choices to carry through to the future.”

Lianne Mulholland, Community Fundraising Officer, Cancer Focus NI, said: “We are so excited to bring our Focus Fit programme to Newry and the surrounding areas for a second year, following the massive success of last year’s fundraiser which raised an incredible £7,200 with participants seeing a real benefit from their new healthy lifestyle habits.  At Cancer Focus NI, we want to help you to take positive steps to adopting a healthier lifestyle to lower the risk of cancer.  This programme not only spreads our message but also help us to raise vital funds for local cancer patients and their families.”

“We have run similar Focus Fit programmes in other towns and the participants have seen amazing results and I’m sure we will see similarly fantastic results again in Newry! This challenge caters for everyone anyone who wants to kick start their health transformation this spring.  The challenge is free to enter but we are asking you raise £300 in sponsorship for Cancer Focus NI.  All the money you raise will be spent on the services we provide in the local community.”

The Focus Fit Newry Challenge kicked off last Monday at Gym Tech, Newry.
