Write a commentCancer Focus NI is looking for 20 individuals to get their jiving boots on and take part in their production of Strictly Goes Country in Newry in April.
No previous dancing experience is required, you will be taught to strut your stuff by professional jive teacher Marty O’Connor, of Red Marty Productions. You can sign up on your own or with a friend.
Training starts on Tuesday 13th February and there will be a grand finale on Friday 13th April at the Canal Court Hotel, Newry. Tickets are available for friends, family and the public.
Joanne Smith, Community Fundraising Officer, Cancer Focus NI said: “We are so excited to launch our Strictly Goes Country fundraising event. For anyone who has ever dreamed of taking to the stage like the stars, this is your chance to make that dream come true!”
“Even if you’ve never jived before, it’s a great chance to learn something new, increase your fitness and have an amazing time while raising money for local children affected by cancer. Sign up is only £30 to secure your place and we request a minimum of £300 to be raised through fundraising by each dancer. All the money raised will go towards our family support service, which carries out important work with families when a mum, dad or grandparent has cancer.”
