Councillor Roisin Mulgrew, Chairperson, Newry, Mourne and Down Council has met with representatives from Clanmil Housing Group together with local political representatives, on Monday 12 February 2018, to discuss delivering more social housing for the district.

Councillor Roisin Mulgrew said, “The meeting addressed the assistance that can be given to identify and secure land and development opportunities which could facilitate more much needed homes, particularly in the Newry City area. All representatives believe that everyone should have a great home and together we are seeking opportunities to make homes available to the families that need them. We are all conscious of the significant housing need in Newry City and are looking for ways of encouraging development opportunities that will help provide more much needed homes.”
Group Director of Development at Clanmil Housing Group, Carol McTaggart also spoke of their plan to provide over 1200 home in the province in the next three years.
