Newry Freemasons are hosting a Big Breakfast this weekend in aid of Fight for Alfie and visitors will get a chance to get a tour of one of Newry's most beautiful buildings.
The event takes place this Saturday 27 May from 8.30am to 12pm and all are welcome. Newry Masonic Hall at Downshire Road in the city is home to several lodges with Lodge 77 being the longest established. The lodge has been continuously working since 1737, making them the oldest Masonic Lodge in the Province of Ulster and the sixth oldest in Ireland.
Eleven year old Alfie Pentony from Newry was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2016 at the age of four. His family set up the charity Fight for Alfie to help the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. All funds raised further the research and study into Duchenne to find a cure.
