Doing a live comedy gig while having a full body wax is not your average fund raiser but Laurencetown man Terry McCartan's performance certainly captured peoples imaginations, raising an incredible £7000 for the Southern Area Hospice.
Terry raised the funds in memory of his mum Maria.
Terry originally set out to raise £100 for Southern Area Hospice by shaving his head during lockdown but things quickly escalated for the comedian and Terry committed to doing a livestream comedy performance while undergoing a full body wax on what would have been his mums 60th birthday.
About his fundraising Terry said “The Hospice is a fantastic place which provides excellent care, I am just happy I was able to give back to such a worthwhile charity in memory of my mum.”
Terry presented the cheque to the Hospice on a recent visit with his aunt Angela Lappin.
