Tomorrow's Pride in Newry - A festival with something for everyone!

Newry will be ablaze with colour tomorrow Saturday for the third annual Pride in Newry Festival Parade and Concert.

The parade begins at McClelland Park, Catherine Street at 2pm but there are lots of activities on before and after.

This years parade will for the first time have a local school group participating with Year 13 and 14 pupils invited along with their teachers.

The Parade starts at 2pm from McClelland Park and will travel along Edward Street to the Camlough Road Roundabout, down Monaghan Street, across the bridge, round by the Town Hall before travelling down Hill Street, turning into Mill Street and then down Merchants Quay and back down Monaghan Street where it will finish.

There will be free Currach trips on Newry Canal from 12pm to 3pm from outside Courtenays on Merchants Quay so if you fancy an Amsterdam Pride experience get on down.

From 11am Marcus Square will have entertainment from local bands on stage as well as members of Belfast Community Circus and the Armagh Rhymers.

A family fun day takes place from 1pm in McClelland Park with Sticky Fingers workshops, funfair rides, stalls, fantasy funhouse and much more.

The Pride in Newry concert will start at 3pm in McClelland Park with a mind blowing list of performers including local band The Nooks and Louis Walsh’s latest band Taken as well as kings and queens of camp the Bjorn Identity.

All these events are free and open to all.
