Write a commentLocal Councillor Oonagh Magennis has confirmed that work recently agreed on traffic calming measures to be put in place outside St Laurence O Toole Primary School in Belleeks village will commence shortly.
Cllr Magennis explained “Last November at a meeting with Department for Infrastructure (DfI) Officials to discuss ongoing concerns about vehicle and pedestrian safety in the vicinity of St Laurence O Toole Primary School in Belleeks, it was agreed to implement traffic calming measures outside the School.
I am delighted to say that a Work Instruction has been issued to contractors and the work has to be completed in 4 weeks.
“This will be of huge relief to the Belleeks Community who have resolutely campaigned to get some sort of traffic calming measures in place. While this development might not be all they had wished for, it is a start and it will alleviate some of the speeding issues through the village and more importantly outside the local Primary School”.
