Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is asking those planning to visit Council buildings to bring a face covering.

Face coverings are now mandatory in the communal areas of Council buildings and while moving around them. The Council appreciates that exemptions on wearing face coverings apply. They are also not required for its fitness suites.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Laura Devlin said, “We are asking visitors to help us keep you and our employees safe.
“Therefore, please pack a face covering before you leave the house and wear it if you are not exempt. Also remember to ensure your face covering covers your nose and mouth.
“The best available evidence is that, when used correctly, wearing a face covering may reduce the spread of coronavirus droplets, helping to protect others. However, do remember that face coverings are not a replacement for social distancing and regular hand washing, so continue to follow the public health guidance.
“We are all in this together to try to keep each other safe.”
