A 17 year old male has been charged with 23 motoring related offences following the ramming of a police vehicle near Rathfriland yesterday. As a result of the collision two police officers had to be taken to hospital.

The charges include four counts of dangerous driving, four counts of using a motor vehicle without insurance and causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.
He is due to appear at Newry Youth Court on Friday 5th August and all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges are in relation to a road traffic collision at the Drumlough Road area of Rathfriland on Monday 18th July, in which a police vehicle was rammed by a car and two officers were taken to hospital for their injuries following the incident.
