All Ireland Titles for local Comhaltas at Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann

Odhrán Keown from Rinn Mhic Giolla Rua CCE took first in the Over 18 Piano Accordion at the Fleadh.

The 2026 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast proved to be incredibly successful for three local Comhaltas branches as well as for Crossmaglen singer Piaras Ó Lorcáin who's already making quite a name for himself on the music circuit.

The fleadh which was held for the first time in Belfast ended on Sunday night with a reported 1.6 million visitors in attendance in a week that saw outstanding concerts, events and street sessions as well as the competitions.

Rinn Mhic Giolla Rua CCE from Warrenpoint took home 6 medals with three All Ireland titles. Odhrán Keown took first in the Over 18 Piano Accordion; Eimear Magee took first place in the Over 18 English Singing (Ladies) and Ayman Morgan took first in Under 12 Miscellaneous. The Comhaltas also took third place in the / 4-Hand Céilí Dancing, Mixed (12-15) and Odhrán Keown took third place along with Erin Maginn from Caisleán Nua CCE in the Over 18 Duet.

An Bonnán Buí CCE Crossmaglen took home 4 medals including two All Ireland Titles. Turlough McMahon took first in the Under 12 Irish Harp while fellow member Dáithí MacCana took first in the Under 12 English Singing (Men). Fallon Maguire took third in the Under 12 English Singing (Ladies) with their Colla Céilí Band taking third place in the Over 18 Céilí Band competition.

Dún Réimhe Comhaltas based Whitecross/ Camlough came home with a total of 6 medals and one All Ireland title. Tess Ní Dhonnaile took first in Under 12 Sean Nós (Ladies); Grace Smith came third in Under 12 Miscellaneous while the Comhaltas took second in the Under 12 8-Hand Céilí Dancing, Mixed, second in the Under 12 4-Hand Céilí Dancing, Ladies, third in the Over 18 4-Hand Céilí Dancing, Ladies and third in the 15-18 4-Hand Céilí Dancing Mixed.

Piaras Ó Lorcáin took home an All Ireland in the Over 18 English Singing (Men) and a third place in the Over 18 Sean Nós (Men) competitions.
