Newry Museum is to host a children's summer camp inspired by its collections, exhibitions and the local landscape. The camp will run for 5 days from 3 to 7 August. The programme will combine learning with hands-on creative activities for children aged seven to 12.
The camp will take place daily from 11.00am to 1.00pm and will include storybook crafting inspired by Narnia and the Mourne Mountains, jewellery design involving the creation of necklaces and beaded bracelets, painting on mini canvases alongside clay sculpting, and an ocean-themed art project called Marine Masterpieces.
The cost is £10 per child, with places strictly limited to 10 children per session. Organisers have recommended that children wear clothes suitable for getting messy, and a short break will be held at 12 noon for those who wish to bring a small snack.
Parents planning for their child to attend unaccompanied are asked to complete a registration form which you can download below and return it to the museum as soon as possible to secure a place.
With spaces expected to fill quickly, anyone wishing to book is asked to send the form quickly to Declan.Carroll@nmandd.org.
