A tribute to the life and music of Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith is coming to Newry Town Hall next Sunday 22 March as part of Newry Arts Festival 2026.
The Nanci Griffith Songbook features Gillian Tuite and The Blue Moon Band performing songs from Griffith's catalogue, many of which found a particularly devoted audience in Ireland. The show begins at 8pm and is described as an evening of warmth, storytelling and melody.
From Love at the Five and Dime to From a Distance, her beautifully crafted songs of life, love and resilience resonated across generations, inspiring artists such as Mary Black and Maura O'Connell.
The performance is part of Newry Arts Festival 2026, which runs from 19 to 29 March and features a mix of folk legends, contemporary artists and live performances across its programme.
