This years Newry Arts Festival has concluded its week-long celebration of creativity, diversity, and community engagement. The event has been declared a resounding success with audiences from across the region and beyond getting involved with its diverse program spanning visual arts, performing arts and workshops, all celebrating the transformative power of the arts.

From 1–7 April, the festival captivated audiences with a dynamic lineup of events and activities that showcased the rich tapestry of artistic talent both locally and internationally.

From theatre productions like Geppatto and The Trial of John Mitchel to electrifying musical performances from David Quigley and Anthony Kearns and The New Leaves, the Newry Arts Festival showcased the best of live entertainment.

From painting and singing circles to comic drawing and poetry there really was something for everyone.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Valerie Harte said, “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to Newry Arts Festival 2024. This year’s festival was a testament to the vibrancy and diversity of our local arts scene, as well as the enduring spirit of our community. We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed to its success and helped make it a truly unforgettable experience.”

Organisers are already looking ahead to next years event and building on the momentum of this year. Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is committed to continuing the Festival’s legacy for years to come.
