Newry Youth Performing Arts Adults Presents a High-Energy Production at the Marketplace Theatre Armagh from 11 - 14 September 2024.
Get ready to rock as the group brings the electrifying 80’s rock musical, 'Rock of Ages' to the Marketplace Theatre in Armagh. This highly anticipated production promises to deliver a sensational experience, following NYPA Adults' previous successes, including the sell-out run of "9 to 5 The Musical" at Newry Town Hall, the remarkable "Les Misérables: Schools Edition" in the Marketplace in April and the spectacular West Side Story in August.
"Rock of Ages" is set to transport audiences back to the era of big hair, big dreams, and even bigger guitar solos. The team behind NYPA Adults are no strangers to the stage, having recently starred in the acclaimed production of "Oklahoma" earlier this year, as well as staring in and producing many other well know productions over the years.
Roisin Fearon, NYPA Producer, shares her excitement: "Bringing 'Rock of Ages' to the Marketplace Theatre, Armagh is a dream come true. This show is a love letter to the rock anthems of the 80’s, and our cast's energy and talent will leave the audience singing along and dancing in their seats to hits such as Don’t Stop Believing, Just Like Paradise and We Built this City. It's an unmissable experience for both rock enthusiasts and theatre lovers alike."
The Marketplace Theatre in Armagh offers the perfect venue for this vibrant production. With its convenient location surrounded by a variety of restaurants and a hotel, visitors can enjoy a full day or night out. The theatre itself boasts a well-stocked bar, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
The cast of "Rock of Ages" is a powerhouse of local talent, each member bringing their unique flair to the stage. Acclaimed Musical Director, Wilson Sheilds will be leading the band as they recreate the sounds of well-known rock anthems to give audiences the ultimate 80’s night out. Their dedication and passion are evident in every rehearsal, ensuring a performance that will be talked about long after the final curtain falls.
