True North: Pets Saving Lives follows a pack of dedicated canine heroes as they risk life, limb and paw, embarking on life-saving missions across Northern Ireland.
Led by a group of trained volunteer handlers, these search and rescue dogs have a special set of skills that are relied on to help rescue people from mountains, water and collapsed buildings, risking their own safety in extreme weather conditions and unsafe environments.
In this film you will see search dogs and their handlers as they work to locate vulnerable people, carrying out rescue missions near Newcastle beach and on Cavehill Mountain.
The film was made by Waddell Media for BBC Northern Ireland.
True North: Pets Saving Lives airs Monday 26 August at 10.40pm on BBC One Northern Ireland and BBC iPlayer.
