An unusual and intriguing exhibition combining photography and poetry is to go on display at Newry City Library from 7 to 25 September.
The project, titled Reflections, brings photographer Jonathan Heyhoe together with poet and novelist Csilla Toldy, who was invited to write poems in response to two sets of his images.
The first set of photographs was taken in a cafe at Tate Modern Gallery in London on a winter's afternoon, while the second originated in a challenge made to Heyhoe to attempt some self-portraits. Many of these latter images were made locally, in his home and garden in Warrenpoint.
The Editor of international photography magazine FRAMES, Tomasz Trzebiatowski, described the Reflections project as "a wonderful collaboration", while former Picture Editor of The Times newspaper Paul Sanders called it "A powerful combination of words and images raising questions about our place in the world."
