The Newry Branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign will be hosting a special Gaza Film Festival at Finegan and Son in Kildare Street, Newry, with funds raised going towards aid for Gaza.

The festival begins on Thursday 18 December at 7pm with 'The Teacher', a gripping drama by Oscar nominated and BAFTA winning director Farah Nabulsi. The film starts around 7pm, following a presentation of a cheque to Médecins Sans Frontières for £15,815.00 raised by Daisy Hill Hospital staff's 'Fast for Gaza'. This comes after the weekly protest outside Finegan and Son at 6.30pm every Thursday.
The second showing in the festival will be 'Palestine 36' on Thursday 8 January at 7pm at Finegan and Son. This highly acclaimed drama depicts the revolt of Palestinian villages against British colonial rule in 1936. Films will be shown on successive Thursdays after this, with details to follow in the New Year.
There is no admission charge but donations are welcome, with all funds going towards aid for Gaza.
