Set against the stunning backdrop of the Mourne Mountains in Newcastle, County Down foodies and music fans can enjoy a weekend of fabulous ‘Eats & Beats’ at Visit Mourne’s newest Giant Adventures festival on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 September.
Offering the best in local and world food and music, visitors can enjoy delicious fare at the homegrown and world food villages with over 60 local and world food and drink outlets. Three music stages providing 40+ free performances and fringe events will also take place throughout the two-day festival.
There will be cooking demos, food and drink tastings and a range of delicious local produce on offer from Savour Visit Mourne’s finest food and drink experiences at the homegrown food section at Donard Park from the likes of Paul Cunningham, from Great British Menu fame, and owner of Mourne Larder and Scopers Dundrum.
Tantalise the tastebuds with menu selections from the finest local hospitality providers Killeavy Castle Estate, The Cuan and Denvir’s Coaching Inn. Relish the tastes of locally sourced beef from Castlescreen Farm’s native Irish Dexter Cows. Or for those with a sweet tooth, you’ll love the Nana’s No Bake Wild Fifteens from Mourne Food Adventures and Neary Nogs Stoneground Chocolate.
Sample gin, cider and Poitín from Shortcross Gin, Kilmegan Irish Cider and Killowen Distillery. Or enjoy the tastes of award-winning craft brews and beers from Whitewater Brewery and Mourne Mountain Brewery.

Of course, it’s not only the fantastic local food and drink you’ll get to savour at the Eats and Beats festival this September. With three music stages providing 40+ free performances music lovers of all genres will be tapping to the sounds of the best in local and world talent.
Ryan Hand will host the Main/Homegrown stage at Donard Park where festival revellers can enjoy a mix of rock, gospel, folk, country, blues and punk from local legends Odhrán Murphy, Clare Sands, The Skallions and Catherine McGrath to name but a few.
World Music and Foodie enthusiasts will delight in the tastes and sounds on offer at Castle Park. Fans can enjoy acts such as the Brazilian Samba Band, Vicondre and The Mons Wheeler Band, African band Wilson Magwere and the Balkan band Basork. The world stage will also reverberate to the sounds of Belfast Community Gospel Choir and award-winning singer/songwriters Zoe Conway and John McIntyre.
Meanwhile the Rising Stage at The Promenade will give music lovers the chance to hear new and upcoming acts such indie/pop singer-songwriter RUE, indie-folk duo Lathya and the indie/alt rock band from Downpatrick, The Thing Is.
With family fun activities, a sustainability village, Newcastle Artisan Market and fringe events there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the festival weekend.
