As part in Iúr Cinn Fleadh, the annual traditional Irish music and community festival in Newry, the Museum will host an afternoon of traditional music with guest musicians, the Rooney Family.
This will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 28 August from 2pm until 4pm on 28 August.
This is a free event in, but booking is required.
For visitors who wish to take a stroll through the galleries, the Museum provides FREE audio guides, available in English, Irish, French and German, which provide more information on the Castle and the exhibitions. There is also an audio guide that children in the age range 7-12 can enjoy. This is available in Irish and English.
You can also visit the new temporary exhibition ‘Newry Artists, Past and Present’, which celebrates the works of talented artists who hail from Newry or who have found inspiration in the local area. Also on display until the end of August is, ‘Caring for the Community: The Development of Medicine in Newry and Mourne’ an exhibition that examines the role of local healthcare in the area.
