Warrenpoint-based food-to-go producer Deli Lites has secured a major contract with Aer Lingus, with its products now featured on the airline’s Bia Inflight Menu. This new partnership with Aer Lingus and Retail in Motion will see five of the company’s offerings available on all Aer Lingus European and UK routes as part of the Winter Catalogue range.
Travellers can now enjoy a selection of items onboard, including Chicken & Signature Stuffing on malted bloomer, Roast Ham & Irish Cheese Bloomer Tósta, Plant-Based Falafel & Caramelised Hummus Wrap, Breakfast Hash Brown Wrap, and Salt ‘n’ Chilli Chicken Wrap.
This deal marks a significant step forward for the Warrenpoint firm as it continues to grow both at home and across Europe, particularly within the travel sector. The company worked closely with top Irish food suppliers to develop this new inflight menu, which offers a variety of tasty options to passengers.
Deli Lites Co-founder Jackie Reid said, “Aer Lingus is one of the world’s great airlines, Ireland’s flag carrier, and it is a huge milestone for our company to have our products sold onboard in the skies across Europe and the UK.”
Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry, added, “At Aer Lingus, we seek to make every journey count for our customers and we pride ourselves on providing an exceptional onboard experience. Deli Lites Ireland’s products are a fantastic addition to our Bia offering and will help us to enhance our inflight food range even further. We’re delighted to partner with a strong Irish company in delivering delicious food options for travellers and holidaymakers who board Aer Lingus flights in Europe and the UK.”
This contract comes during a standout year for the Warrenpoint company, which has earned recognition at the Sammies Awards and the World Travel Catering and Onboard Services Expo. They also celebrated multiple Great Taste Awards for their bakery items earlier this year.
Based in Warrenpoint, the company produces over 30 million food-to-go and bakery products annually, with its offerings enjoyed by customers worldwide. In 2022, it became the first sandwich manufacturer globally to achieve BCorp certification, reflecting its commitment to using business as a force for good.
