From a single pharmacy in Newry McKeevers Chemists has now expanded into a network of 32 branches across Ireland and England. McKeevers Chemists and this month they are celebrating 25 years in business.
The company was founded in Marcus Square, Newry, in May 2001 by Co. Armagh pharmacist Paul McKeever. What started as one pharmacy has expanded steadily over the past quarter-century into a business employing more than 400 staff, with branches now operating across Ireland and England.
Paul McKeever purchased his first pharmacy in Marcus Square in 2001, and that Newry roots story remains central to the company's identity today. The growth from that single branch to a 32-strong network has been built, according to McKeever, on the people behind the counter as much as the services in front of it.

In recent years the business has broadened its range of private services, which now includes travel vaccinations, ear wax removal, weight management services, and vitamin B12 injections. Many further healthcare solutions are available through the company's online platform, McKeeversDirect.com, alongside a prescription delivery service that allows customers to access products and advice regardless of their location.
Community involvement has remained a consistent thread throughout the company's history, with McKeevers Chemists continuing to play an active role in local initiatives across the areas it serves in Ireland and England.
As the milestone is marked, McKeevers has extended thanks to its customers, staff, and the communities that have been part of its journey over the past 25 years.
