This Wednesday 6 December at 6pm sees the annual Newry Business Christmas Charity Dinner take place at the Canal Court Hotel and there are still some tickets available at www.eventbrite.co.uk .
You are sure of having a really fun night with great food and great entertainment while at the same time helping make sure that no child in the greater Newry area will go without a toy this Christmas.
It's the 24th year of building the famous Toy Mountain here in Newry and the initiative has raised some £1.85 million over the last 23 years. Guests of the dinner are asked to bring a Christmas Present for a child along with them and members of the public are encouraged to donates as well with several businesses in the city available to drop off your presents up until Tuesday 5 December.
The dinner will be attended by some 600+ people. It has always been a community wide effort in support of Newry Hospice, St Vincent de Paul Society, The Salvation Army and many other local charities in the area, at a time when needs are most poignant.
This year will be a particularly difficult year for so many families, so organisers are as always, asking for the local community to come out and support them as much as they possibly can, to help ensure that those children less fortunate receive a toy on Christmas morning. Last year's event raised a staggering total of £125,000.
If you can't make the dinner and would like to contribute you can do so at www.gofundme.com
