St Colman’s College participated in the Operation Christmas Child Campaign 2OO9 during the month of November.
This campaign is commonly known as ‘The Shoebox appeal’. All Junior Religion classes and S1 classes participated with commitment and enthusiasm in this campaign with the help and support of their teachers. Students and teachers successfully made over 200 shoeboxes, which is an excellent response.
The gift filled shoeboxes will be distributed to disadvantaged and suffering children in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and parts of Africa. The gifts will bring these suffering children a lot of joy and happiness this Christmas. By participating in this campaign St Colman’s students have expressed their generosity, compassion, kindness and goodwill to children who are less fortunate than themselves.
