Scholarship for Trumpet Student Stephen Murphy, an S4 student at st. Colman’s has been offered a scholarship to study Trumpet at the RNCM in Manchester following a successful audition in October. He will commence his study at the music college in October 2010, where he will embark on a four year BMUS course.
While attending the college he will receive individual tuition from one of their many trumpet professors. This top class teaching is one of a kind and Stephen will have enormous opportunities to advance his playing abilities and widen his musical experience.
The RNCM has a number of different ensembles that range from Big Band to Symphonic orchestra. The college is renowned for its brass studies and has links with a number of professional brass bands including their resident band “The Black Dyke Band.” Stephen is looking forward to commencing his study at the RNCM and the experiences it will give him.
Congratulations to Stephen and we wish him every success. Yet another success story for our music department under the excellent guidance of Miss Sinead Frame, Head of Music and Mr Mark Doran Music Teacher.
