Newry's Eariwig Festival kicks off tonight with an opening parade starting from the North Street Car Park at 6.30 making it's way to Kilmorey Park. The Festival returned last year after an absence of many years and this year the organiser plan to have it bigger and better than ever.
Live music will feature prominently and will include performances from The Xceptions, Michael Buble Tribute Peter Kierhey, 18 Arches, The Shout, Green Envy, Teen Spiirt, Room 4s, Gary Carroll Youth Street Rage, Waiting for the Weekend, Catalyst, Seamy and Corrina and Silvers got Strings.
Friday 26th July
6.30pm: Parade
Fancy dress competition and Disco following Parade
Saturday 27th July
12pm to 6pm Family Fun Day
12pm to 7 pm live music
12 - 1pm: Boxing exhibition St Patricks ABC
1pm - 2pm Zumbathon.
8pm: Sleepover for the kids.
Sunday 28th July
10.30am: 5k,10k King of the Hill Race
12pm to 6pm: Family fun day and live music
2 pm to 3pm: Tug of War
4pm to 5pm: Irish dancing with McFee school of dance.
5pm to 6 pm: Tug of War
9pm: Release of lanterns for all loved ones at the Grotto
