Write a commentPolice in Newry have arrested a 30 year old male following an assault on Canal Street at the weekend.
At 2.53am on Saturday, a 22 year old man was assaulted by a male on Canal Street. A second male came to the assistance of the first victim and was also assaulted.
Police attended and following enquiries at the scene arrested a 30 year old man shortly before 5am on suspicion of GBH, AOABH and possession of Class A and B drugs. He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
