Write a commentPolice in Newry are appealing for information following an alleged assault on a 47 year old man in Talbot Street in Newry.
Sometime between 2am and 3am on Saturday, 31 May, the man was walking past licensed premises when he was approached by a male who asked him for tobacco. This male then went on to assault him, kicking him as he fell to the ground.
The injured party sustained facial injuries which required medical treatment.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has information in relation to it to contact them in Newry on the 101 non-emergency number, quoting ref: 681010614.
