A 37 year old man has been arrested by Detectives from E District Tactical Crime Unit following the seizure of suspected cannabis with an approximate street value of £50,000 following the search of a house in the Bracken Grove area of Newry this morning (Wednesday 13th February).
The man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including cultivating cannabis, possession of a class B drug and possession of a class B drug with intent to supply. He is currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.
Commenting on the arrest Chief Inspector Davy Beck, Newry and Mourne Area Commander, commented "My officers are committed to detecting and prosecuting drug dealers and taking dangerous drugs off our streets. We remain dedicated to carrying out proactive searches against drug dealers and I would encourage people to continue to report any concerns they have regarding drugs to police and to pass on any information that could help us identify dealers and place them before the courts."
