In the first Armagh game of the year and the first competitive game under the new management headed by Paul Grimley it was Cavan who came out on top at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh's opening round of the Dr McKenna Cup.
Armagh were slow to start but ultimately it was Cavan's goal scoring, two in the first half and one in the second that made the difference.
A goal from Armagh's Gavin McParland just before half time kept Armagh in contention trailing just by three points which they managed to claw back at the start of the second half but that was as far as it got and Cavan's third goal always meant it was going to be a game of catch up which ultimately didn't happen.
Next game is at Pairc Esler on Wednesday night which will see either Armagh or Down going through to the Semi Final Stage.
Final Score Armagh 1:11 Cavan 3:9
