Golf Classic
Groover and the golf team have things well in place for the Jubilee Golf Classic this Friday 19th July. Groover stated ‘well folks less than a week to go for our golf classic, still a few places left in the morning so please try and push these slots . Could anyone who has got a sponsor or is getting one let me know ASAP. This Thursday is the deadline to get sponsors signs printed, as I said folks one last push to try and make this a huge success.’
Volunteers to assist on the day are required – if you’re free for a few hours give the boys a shout and get down to Warrenpoint Golf Club to lend a hand.
Teams £100, adverts £50, sponsorship packages available.
Cúl Camp
This year’s Cúl Camp is being held 12th – 16th August is St Patrick’s Primary School. Cost is £35 per participant and booking can be made on line where you can avail of a £5 discount or forms are available from club mentors.
A Cúl Camp information and booking evening is being held in the club on Thursday 1st August at 8:00 p.m.
Cumann Naomh Eoin Bosco Sports & Community Development Plan 2013 -2015
We are currently developing our 5 year sports & community development plan 2013 -2015 – this is our blueprint for future development, growth and success. As a community club everyone’s views and suggestions are being sought, if you would like to be part of this planning process please get in touch with Paul McCormack and feed into the plan. Draft copies of the plan will be available on a strictly club member only basis.

U14 Girls take the traditional route on the 12th
CARRICKCRUPPEN v BOSCO
On 12th July while the Orangemen marched and everyone else went to the beach or organised a BBQ, the Bosco U14 girls played an entertaining challenge match with Carrickcruppen. This was part of their preparation for the u14 County Armagh Championship final with Silverbridge later in July.
Without a bowler hat in sight the match proved to be of very high quality with the Bosco scorers being Aine McCabe 1:01, Orlagh Burke 0:01 and Dervla McGovern 1:00. The player of the match was undoubtedly Roisin Kelly in the Bosco goal who pulled off several great saves during the match. FINAL SCORE Carrickcruppen 3: 04 Bosco 2:02
The U14 girls now commence their own summer league on Sunday 21st July with a home match against Teconnaught at Jack Mackin Park at 1.00pm
U10 and U12 Girls to attend Ulster Blitz in Tyrone
On Saturday 20th July the Bosco will enter two teams in the Ulster Blitz which will take place in Tyrone. We are the only club from Down to take part with an opportunity to play against such clubs as Lavey, (Derry) Dungannon Clarkes, (Tyrone) and St John’s (Antrim) amongst others.
U10 Girls invited to Fingallians GAA Dublin Tournament
The Bosco U10 Girls have been invited to take part in the Fingallians annual u10 girl’s tournament in Dublin on the 17th August. They will be the only team from outside of Dublin to participate and this follows the successful visit of the Fingallian u12 girls to St Colman’s in May this year.

The teams already signed up for our tournament include Saval, Warrenpoint and Carrickcruppen with eight teams to total to take part.
Bosco U12 Girls Play at Croke Park
The two Bosco players Nicola Downey and Aine McCabe thoroughly enjoyed their match and day out at Croke Park on Tuesday 9th July 2013. They certainly held their own against the boys and also tried their hand at Camogie.
Another Bosco u12 girl was also at the Croke Park event with Niamh Burns representing Ballyholland Camogie team.
Film Nights Summer 2013
Long summer nights when it’s hard to find things to keep the children busy? Why not bring them down to the Bosco club every Monday evening from 7:30 p.m.? The hugely popular film nights are back again this summer! Every Monday at 7:30 p.m. the place to be for all underage members and their friends is in the club to see the latest big films.
Part of our community outreach programme the film nights are organised to help parents fill those long summer nights and ensure children are taking part in organised activities. As such the event is open to all young members of our community. Admission is free, just bring your sweets and soft drinks - this event is sponsored by St John Bosco GAC.
Wednesday 18th September Golden Jubilee Table Quiz
With the excellent support from quiz master Aidan O’Rourke the club are organising a table quiz on Wednesday 18th September in the Canal Court Hotel. Get your teams organised and let’s ensure the night is a great success.
Team members not permitted include Joe Brolly, Laptops, I-Phones or other internet connected device.

Sunday 11th August Club day at the Races
We are organising a joint Dundrum/St John Bosco Day at the Races in Downpatrick Sunday 11th August £40 per head which includes racecourse entry, food, free £5 bet, return bus fare and after race entertainment.
