Chamber support Veladrome

President Mary Doran, Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade has pledged support

 for the proposed bid of a velodrome facility at the Sheepbridge Complex by a local private sector developer.

President Doran stated, ‘the only logical location for a sports facility specifically designed to cater for and service an all-island market is Newry’. ‘The proposed multi-million pound facility at the Sheepbrige would be easily accessed by the new Belfast to Dublin motorway and has the potential to be a significant economic driver for the Greater Newry Area; securing employment, encouraging new business start-ups, attracting spin off services and providing prestigious leisure facilities to local citizens and athletes from all over Ireland’ .

Newry Chamber urges the Sports Council NI to announce the Newry bid as the preferred location of this important economic, social and leisure development’.
