Thomas Davis Corrinshego v Whitecross
On Saturday the young footballers from Corrinshego took on their counterparts from Whitecross in a great game of football. From the start Danny Shields and Adam Travers dominated midfield with Danny scoring 2-6 and Adam adding 2-5. C. Mallon performed well in goals and Calum Bradley scored 0-2 in his first game of the year after braking his arm. Ciaran Higgins was safe in the full- back line and gets better with each game and also added 0-2 to the Corrinshego total. Martin McKinley with his first ever start in a maroon jersey never gave up, while Shea Mallon ran his heart our when he was brought into the forwards. Liam O’Brien pulled off a good block when a Whitecross goal looked certain. Corrinshego would like to thank Whitecross for a very sporting game.

Tomás Dáibhis 5-12 Éire Óg 0-08
Thomas Davis Under 16’s got back to winning ways in the first round of the All County Shield with a comprehensive win over North Armagh rivals Éire Óg at St.Pauls school field last Thursday night. Both sides started quite evenly with good attacking moves with excellent build-ups from their respective half back lines and after 10 minutes both sides were evenly matched with 0-03 each on the scoreboard but with Lee Courtney positioned at the edge of the small square this tactic began to bear fruit with a well taken goal. Éire Óg were finding it difficult at this stage to handle the movement of our forwards and soon the scores began to rack up with majors from Matthew Loughran, Dean Faloon & Caolan Marron. Further points from Declan Loye, Caolan Marron & Lee Courtney allowed us a generous lead of 5-06 to 0-06 at halftime.
The expectant Éire Óg comeback never materialised in the second half primarily as our defensive unit was on top in all sectors. Goalkeeper Ronan McMahon was excellent with some fine stops and good awareness sweeping in behind his fullback. Breandáin McCorry & Shane Keenan never put a foot wrong all night and half backs Conor Jennings, Aaron Cinnamond & Dean Faloon supported the play at every opportunity. A good night for Thomas Davis but there is no doubt there will be harder challenges to come.

Mullaghbawn 1-03 Oliver Plunketts 6-10
On a glorious Monday evening the Minors travelled away to play Mullaghbawn in the second fixture in the All County League. Mullaghbawn coming down from Div 1 would be a test for the lads. With the ref not turning up it was with thanks to a local ref for coming to officiate the game at short notice. The home side from the throw in put over the first point and the game ebbed and flowed for the next ten minutes with the boys popping over three points from Phelim Finnegan and Lee Courtney. In a hard hitting game with 15 mins on the clock this minor team played their best football this season which started from the ball hitting the back of the net from Sean Thompson,from this the boys gave Mullaghbawn a torrid time with men overlapping runs all around the pitch, the home side were dealt further blows with goals coming from Jordan King, C. Flanagan, Phelim Finnegan, Conor Loye and Capt Mark McAteer and a great individual point from wing half Ryan Magill. The full backs of Jamie Fields, Deaglan Jennings and Micheal McGory time and again just beat their men to the ball to start the attacks off resulting in the half-time score 0-2 6-8. With a chance to put subs on a few changes were made, knowing Mullaghbawn would come out for the second half with their ears ringing from the mentors half time team-talk, it was the home side who started the quicker with the first point of the second half. Mullaghbawn were getting more of the ball and it was only two great saves from keeper David Hankin that kept a comfortable scoreline between the sides. The boys showed great maturity in not forcing the game and for long periods kept procession of the ball making the home side work constantly. Great play from Niall Canning who worked tirelessly in defence and the full forward line of Charlie Magill, C Flanagan and Decky Loye who were out in front of their men all night. A super result at the end of game winning 1-3 6-10. Man of the match performance from Phelim Finnegan with some terrific scores and great work ethic. Next game at home to Granemore throw in 7.30pm 1st July.
