U14’s have fun at Camlough Lake
We would like to thank Raymond Thompson and the U14 Manager Adrian McCourt for taking all our Under 14’s kayaking out on Camlough Lake last Thursday. Fun was had by all.
Supermarket Sweep
We are once again running a Supermarket Sweep. Tickets are available from any Club Member at a price of £2 each. The Sweep will take place at the end of August.

Madden v Corrinshego
4 - 14 V 1 – 13
An under 14 clash versus Madden does not feature much in Corrinshego's calendar, so our coaches were looking forward to this game, but unfortunately it seemed in the first half at least that our players were not. Unlike the team this season they seemed a little lethargic, and it showed, especially on the goals front, for Madden took their opportunities in front of goal, whereas our forwards did not. The lack of options, with some players missing and injured didn't help, but still the scoreline only read 2-4 to 0-7 at half time to madden, but this didn't tell the whole story, as madden kicked wide after wide and gave our boys every opportunity to stay in the game up until half time. Again it was vice captain Adam Loughran who kept the team in the hunt with 4 points before the break, with Kyle Mooney and Brendan McLoughlin also getting on the scoresheet.
The Corrinshego boys gave a far better account of themselves at the beginning of the second half, with wing forward Jonjo Cranney floating over from a tight angle and Adam Loughran slipping a goal past the Madden keeper. In fact the game was finely poised at this stage when Corrinshego were awarded a penalty, which would have put them in front, but it was squandered and from the resulting kick out madden went up the field and when two defenders were drawn to one man, the madden forward was free to bulge the back of the visitor's net. Heads went own too quickly and we soon conceded another, before midfielder Conor Jennings sent over the final Corrinshego point. A steep learning curve for our young lads this year, which will help them next season. Unlucky boys.

Minors 1-13 Sarsfields 0-5
With the minors missing five players due to holidays and injuries and only one sub on the bench this game could be seen as a potential slip up for the boys.
After last weeks good Championship win it was important to get off to a quick start. Full back Deaglen Jennings was the first player to registered a score working the ball the length of the pitch to fist over the bar. Fifteen minutes into the game with the score at 03-01 with good approach work from Conor Loye putting in Sean Thomson who crashed the ball against the crossbar with Decky Loye pouncing on the rebound,dummying the goalkeeper to put a bit of breathing space between the two teams.
Another two points one from Sean Thompson who after being a bit match rusty being in Australia for the last four weeks left the halftime score 1-4 0-2. On the restart it was the boys who kicked on with a couple of frees from Phelim Finnegan to leave them in control of the game. The discipline not to give away silly frees was excellent with Lee Courtney having a great game a wing half back winning plenty of ball.
Another brace of points from Charlie Magill put the game beyond doubt. A man of the match performance for Conor Loye with some great midfield play and setting up scores time and again.

Thomas Davis Corrinshego 1-12 St. Patrick’s Dromintee 1-4
Friday the 26th July will live long in the memory of all Gaels connected to Thomas Davis, as the Newry based club annexed the All-County Junior B league and in doing so claimed their first title at senior level since 1982.
With expectations high in the club a good crowd had gathered in expectation of honours. After a very nervous start it was the men in blue and white who started the more promising. On 3 minutes Karl Kimmins pulled off a good save, only to see Dromintee take the lead from a 45m moments later. The game ebbed and flowed with both Ryan Mc Williams and David Lenaghan catching good ball and the ever reliable James Dinsmore sweeping up any loose ball. However the ball into the forwards was either poor or the Dromintee defence gathered it up. On 9mins Shane McArdle equalised with a point after a strong penetrating run. On 13mins a Danny Cinnamond point pushed Thomas Davis in front. To their credit the Dromintee side didn’t give up and probably should have bagged at least one goal at this stage of the game. Dromintee equalised and on 19mins their expected goal came to leave the score 1-2 to 0-2 in favour of the St. Patrick’s side. Thomas Davis pushed on and on 21mins Ryan O’Reilly reduced the margin with a fine point after being set up by Shane McArdle. On 23 mins Ryan McWilliams was hauled down when brusting through from midfield, unfortunately the resulting free went narrowly wide from the boot of Ryan O’Reilly. However a strong run from Cathal Trainor and interchange play with David Murphy saw C. Trainor reduce the gap to a solitary point. Dromintee added another point before David Murphy responded with a point for the Newry side a minute before half time, to leave the score 1-3 to 0-5 in favour of the Dromintee men at the break.
On the resumption it was Dromintee who scored the opening point , however this was to be their last score of the game and with the Bradshaw brothers, Conor Loye and John Mc Ilroy commanding a stong presence in the defence. On 34mins Ryan O’Reilly scored from a free after Danny Cinnamond was fouled. On 37 mins Liam Quinn got on the scoresheet after being fed a good pass by S. McArdle.
Two minutes Corrinshego found the back of the net after good interchangeable play between S.McArdle and C. Trainor led to Danny Cinnamond firing the ball home, to leave the score 1-7 to 1-4 in favour of the Newry men. On 41mins David Lenaghan added to the total and two minutes later Liam Quinn pointed from a free. Corrinshego were completely on top in all sectors and D. Cinnamond pointed from a free to make it 1-10 to 1-4. As the game reached a conclusion Gerry O’Reilly emptied the bench, Davy Murphy and Liam Quinn pointed to leave it 1-12 to 1-4.On 61minutes referee Joe Murtagh blew his whistle and 31 years of pain, anguish, misery and torture was over as Thomas Davis Corrinshego were now Armagh All-Couny Junior B League winners.
This was a great achievement for Thomas Davis and all those connected to the club. Players, club members and supporters celebrated long into the night back at the ranch!
