St John Bosco Seniors
Naomh Eoin Bosco 1-11 Tullylish 1-16
Two 10 minute spells at the start and end of this game were the undoing of the seniors in their top of the table clash with league leaders Tullylish on Friday night. After 10 minutes the boys were 1-3 to no score down and on the back foot. Despite this poor start the team showed great spirit and commitment to get the game back to level with 10 or 12 minutes left. However the team couldn't keep this level of play going and ran out losing by 5 points.
All attention now switches to the championship and our first game takes place next Friday night 9th August at 6.30 in Castlewellan against Kilclief and all support is welcome.....please note the early start time for this game
Table toppers and championship opponents Tullylish are in Jack Mackin Park next Friday 2nd August in a vital game. A big turn out of support would be very welcome!

St John Bosco U10s
Sunday 4th August St John Bosco vs Rostrevor venue St Colman’s Gollege 3G pitch
Rostrevor were the visitors this week and the game was to be played on the new grass pitch in St Colman’s however the grass hasn’t been cut for a couple of weeks and both teams were scared of losing their smaller players in the jungle.
With no one on the 3G the match was soon switched to this venue and both teams relished the opportunity of playing their first game on a full length pitch and especially on a 3G surface.
Playing 18 a side the pitch was still massive but these young stars ran their hearts out and covered a lot of ground in the 60 minutes of football. The match flowed end to end with Bosco midfield of Pól Óg McCormack, Ronan Cinnamond and James Boyle playing some fantastic football and controlling the middle third of the pitch. Danial Preece suffered a bad stud injury to his leg but recovered quickly and mastered the half forward line. Rory McAleavy at half back made several fine runs into the Rostrevor back line delivering excellent paases and was extremely unlucky not to get on the score sheet.
Next up for the U10’s is a home fixture in St Patrick’s P.S on Wednesday evening against Attical, throw in at 7:00 p.m.
