Write a commentA night of fun with a bit of a competitive streak in aid of Newry City Strikers is taking place at the Sheepbridge Bowling Centre on Tuesday coming the 4th of March from 7.15pm.
Bowling Times- 7:15, 8:30 and 9:30
Cost is £10 per person - Teams of 6 or £100 Corporate Ticket (Team of 6)
Newry City Strikers Ten Pin Bowling Club formed following the Special Olympics World Games in Dublin in 2003. They were the first Special Olympics Sports Club in Newry and Mourne, and as such have a well established team of athletes, coaches and volunteers.
Athletes in the City Strikers Bowling club train weekly over a four year cycle progressing from Area Games through to Regional Games, All-Ireland Games then the coveted World Games.
Fundraising events throughout the year help pay for bowling kits, balls, and training trips away. The athletes all enjoy the social aspect of meeting weekly to train in addition to participating in competitions.
Strikers' Ciaron Mallon and Donall Lonergan are back in training with the rest of the City Strikers team at Sheepbridge. The pair will be representing the team at the up-coming National Games this summer.
