Write a commentNewry Netball Club are delighted with the success of their squad in the recent selections made by Netball Ireland.
Six girls will be taking their places in January 2013 Kerry Davidson, Nicola O Gorman, Kirsty McKevitt, and Sara Armstrong O’Hare and Catriona McArdle and Nicole Sheridan
The Mayor Cllr John McArdle congratulated the girls on their selection and made a presentation to them, wishing them every success with their national selection. He realised the big commitment they were making both financially and with their free time. Netball is a sport that receives little financial support.
The Mayor also made them aware that as elite athletes representing Ireland the girls will be entitled to use the gym and swimming pools in Newry and Kilkeel.
This is indeed a big boost for Netball in the area and we are all watching out for our girls and wishing them all the best.
