Newry AC took the first NIMRA race of the season by storm. After weeks of tough training and course recces, their dedication was rewarded.
The venue was the North side of Slieve Gullion and as with every year the wind and rain were on cue combined with the usual mud and bog conditions.
The club fielded 8 athletes who all had superb performances with 5 of them lifting first in their categories.
Rory Mulvaney was first in for Newry AC with an impressive 5th after a strong and determined run over this technical course.
Esther Dickson was next to cross the line with an overall 6th place and lifting the crown of 1st Female. Esther dominated the ladies race and with good route choice and technical running she crossed the finish line well ahead of the 2nd Female and placed in the top 10 overall.
Maurice Harte placed 8th overall and took 1st MV40.
Warren Cartmill placed 12th overall and took 1st MV45.
Kevin Murdoch placed 22nd overall and 1st MV50. Paul LeBlanc placed 16th overall and 1st MV55.
Sarah Quinn deservedly took podium with 3rd female and placed 28th overall.
Ciara Coffey in her Mountain Race Debut placed 32nd overall and took a fantastic 5th Female with a big finish line smile.

Kearney & McBride Cup 5k Bush Co Louth
Sarah Jane Beattie travelled to Bush, Co Louth for the 50th Anniversary 5k race hosted by Glenmore AC.
Weather conditions were not good but the competitors courageously braved the high winds and driving rain to complete the 5k.
Sarah Jane had a good race braving the elements and taking on a tough competitive field of female runners. She completed the race in a time of 22:03, 42nd overall and 8th female.
A top 10 female placing to be proud of on a day of tough running conditions.

Saturday morning saw the four members of the Patterson clan take part in the beautiful surroundings of Kilbroney Forest Park.
Ethan continued his top performances on this challenging course taking 2nd place in a great time of 20.58.
Ryan finished in 9th place with a fantastic PB of 23.27. Fiona & Erin completed in 32.19.
Armagh ParkRun
Meadow McCauley took on the hills of the elegant but damp and windy Palace Demesne in Armagh for her Saturday morning training run.
Meadow took 1st Female, 5th overall and for the 3rd week in a row a new course PB of 21:36.
