Newry Ladies 5-0 South Antrim Ladies
Newry Ladies wanted to keep their solid start to the season going as they hosted South Antrim on Saturday. The result did not seem in doubt as Newry flew out of the traps creating many opportunities early on and it seemed only a mater of time before they took the lead. Youngster Aimee Magowan stepped up to the plate and knocked in Newry's first. Aimee doubled Newry's lead and her goal tally for the day just before half time.
Newry dominated the possession in the second half and again created plenty of chances. Debbie Barry, Caralyn Ferris and Lynne Ervine all scored to cap off dominate display from the home side and finish the game 5-0.

Newry 2's 0-5 Lisnagrvey 2's
A much-improved Newry Olympic Seconds were beaten 5 nil at home by a Lisnagarvey Seconds outfit that may well break the recent Banbridge dominance and win Junior One this season.
Things got off to a poor start for Newry who were forced to start with a kicking back and the home side were 2 nil down within five minutes before stand-in keeper David Henry had time to get settled between the sticks and make the first of several top-drawer saves. Spurred on by this Newry began to have more of the play and it was to their credit that despite considerable possession in the Newry half ‘Garvey were unable to add to the scoring for the remainder of the first half. The Belfast Road men showed some attacking intent of their own and applied some sustained pressure but lacked a cutting edge in and around the D.
The second half saw ‘Garvey make more of their possession as they spread the ball across the pitch and committed more men to attack. Newry continued to work hard but were pushed deeper making attacking on the counter more difficult, particularly as legs began to tire. Garvey added a third goal on 50 minutes but there was to be no repeat of the comeback from 3 nil down that we saw on the last home outing against Banbridge as Garvey added two further goals in the last 10 minutes. Newry will be disappointed that despite their hard work they didn’t work the Garvey keeper enough and didn’t force a single penalty corner. The usual willingness to graft was evident as was an improvement in composure on the ball, Newry will now look add a little guile, sharpness and cutting edge to their performances.

Newry 1's 2-2 Portadown 2's
Newry hosted Portadown on Saturday in a top of the table clash that had all the makings of a great game. Newry had a number of players missing and knew they were going to be in for a tough game. With only a few minutes gone Jeremy Greer went off injured further increasing the injury woes for the home side. Newry had the better of the opening exchanges with John Taylor unlucky not to score from a short corner, however Portadown soon got into their stride and were really piling the pressure on Newry as the half wore on. They made their pressure pay off as they scored with a short corner to go in at half time with the lead.
Newry pressed forward in the second half and John Taylor got them back on level terms early on scoring through a short corner. Both teams were adventurous in attack creating a great game for the spectators even if the weather was trying its best to dampen the mood. Portadown got their noses in front again with a well worked short corner, now with their tails up they went looking the third and they nearly had it only for a Newry keeper Robin Hanlon to pull off a terrific stick save right out of the top drawer which drew applause from both sets of players. Portadown thought they had the game one with five minutes left only for their goal to be ruled out. With two minutes left John Taylor came to Newry's rescue scoring again with a short corner and salvage a draw against a very got Portadown team.
